Shimo Bashira

Almost every morning we have this frost errupting from the ground. All of the tiny strands of ice look like hair. In Japanese it is called shimo bashira, meaning column of frost.

Our friends Rika and Amanda stopped in for a quick visit and we took them to this waterfall. Even though it was very cold, it was so refreshing to be there.

Well, it's that time of year again. Not much to say about taxes, just have to get it done.

New Floor!

We finished the cafe floor and set it up. The space feels completely different...we are looking forward to spending some time in the cafe and breaking it in!

The floor is almost finished! Today we put the first coat of oil. Within a week all of the finishing process should be finished and we can get things set up in the cafe again.

We finally got to work on the new floor in the cafe. Hopefully by tomorrow we will install all of the flooring material. We are looking forward to seeing how different the space feels when we are finished. More updates to come...
